Question: I need your help all you Martha Stewart’s! Wedding Decor question…?
Hello everyone! I had a question for all you decor geniuses, experienced brides, and self-proclaimed “Martha Stewart’s”! I’m planning my wedding at Manchester State Park in western Washington. I’m having issues with figuring out how to decorate the Torpedo Warehouse. See picture links below.
We chose this venue because of it’s size and architecture. It’s a really cool old brick open-air building on the puget sound. We like the simplicity of the landscape and style. BUT – it’s a historic building with extremely high ceilings. That means I can’t affix anything to the building itself and I can’t hang anything from the ceilings…where do I go from here?!? We like “simple” but not plain, lacking, under-decorated, or uncoordinated decor!
We’re shooting for late summer 2010. Our theme/color scheme is peacock feathers/dark teal/apple green/eggplant purple. We’re also going semi-eco friendly. (I say semi because we can’t afford everything “Green!”)
Since the space is so large, our centerpieces are a bit bigger than most banquet style weddings would be. But still, that doesn’t “Decorate” the space. I’m not sure how to fill the space and decorate without hanging things or attaching things to the walls.
Any help you all could give me would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

I’m using this indoor space for the reception. We’ll be having the ceremony behind the warehouse in a grassy, tree-surrounded area. Decorating for the ceremony is easy, it’s this large, empty space that’s giving me trouble!
We have to vacate the park at dusk, so unfortunately it will not be dark for our party.

I’m no Martha… but as soon as I saw your photos I pictured trees with white lights and candles galore…. larger candles for the windows surrounded by tea lights. It would be beautiful! Is the reception at night? The candle light would give it a very romantic feel.
